Our Colleagues
APGO works closely with academic, professional, and industry colleagues to complete the continuum of Ob-Gyn education by providing, undergraduate, graduate and continuing medical education and resources.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG)
ACOG is the nation's leading group of professionals who provide health care for women. As a private, voluntary, nonprofit organization, ACOG:
- Serves as a strong advocate for quality health care for women;
- Maintains the highest standards of clinical practice and continuing education for its members;
- Promotes patient education and stimulating patient understanding of, and involvement in, medical care; and
- Increases awareness among its members and the public of the changing issues facing women's health care.
The Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG)
CREOG facilitates and promotes excellence in residency education in obstetrics and gynecology. Specifically, CREOG:
- Develops diverse programs and projects to encourage and maintain the highest quality in education; and
- Provides resources and consulting for residency program directors, and designs and implements programs to fulfill their needs.
These goals have the ultimate objective of maintaining the highest standards of health care for women.
Corporate Liaison Council
In 1995, APGO established the APGO Corporate Liaison Council (CLC) to foster a partnership between industry and the medical education community. The CLC and the APGO Foundation Board meet twice a year to further their common goal οΎ– to ensure the future of women's health education. Specifically, to:
- Foster interaction between leaders in obstetrics and gynecology and industry;
- Collaboratively identify, develop and implement educational programs and activities in women's health care; and
- Provide early access to information regarding evolving trends in women's health care.
Corporate membership in CLC is available to organizations that share in this mission. Click here for information on how to Get Involved or contact the APGO Office.
