APGO Faculty Development Seminar

The highly acclaimed APGO Faculty Development Seminar, held each January, offers outstanding plenary and breakout sessions that equip faculty members with innovative educational tools to enhance their teaching techniques.  This well-attended and interactive conference is focused on creating the optimal environment for educators and learners; tools, techniques and resources that may be used in student and resident education. 

Clerkship Directors' School, Parts 101 and 201, Saturday, January 8, 2011,  7 am - 2 pm; prior to start of the Seminar

The APGO Clerkship Directors' School Parts 101 and 201 will be covered at the 2011 January Faculty Development Seminar, and consists of basic and intermediate level information specifically designed for developing an ob-gyn clerkship. Content for Part 301, which is more advanced in nature, will be offered at the 2011 CREOG & APGO Annual Meeting in March. Participants completing all three parts within a two year period will receive a Certificate of Completion. Click here for the agenda.

Fueling the Educational Mission: Time, Tools and Technology

The 2011 meeting will focus on creative strategies for obtaining adequate time and resources for your educational activities, acquiring tools for effective teaching and professional development, and incorporating technology into your teaching activities. The seminar is highly regarded for providing excellent opportunities to energize ourselves as educators, and to network with other physician-educators actively engaged in the pursuit of excellence in medical education.

Meeting Registration: The preliminary flyer and registration form for the 2011 Faculty Development Seminar are now available. A more detailed program will be available later this summer. Workshop selections can be made at that time.

Join us for the Lunchtime Learning Session: E=MC2: Education = Meaningful Communications2. Patrice Weiss, MD, Professor, Carilion Clinic-Virginia Tech School of Medicine. Cost of the lunchtime session is $45.

 Hotel Room Reservation Information: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island, Florida. Reservations may be made by calling (904) 277-1100 and identifying yourself with the APGO Faculty Development Seminar. You may also go online at  Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island and enter the group code APGAPGA. The meeting room rate is $179. (A limited number of rooms will be available on a first come first served basis three days prior and three days post.) Please make your reservations by December 1, 2010 to receive the meeting rate.

 APGO Has Gone Green
APGO has gone green for all future meetings. In an effort to be more environmentally focused, the meeting syllabus is distributed on a flash drive, and other "green" plans have been implemented. The syllabus contains the meeting schedules, speaker information, abstract details and workshop information.
