APGO ASL 20th ANNIVERSARY CAMPAIGN
Join the ASL 20th Anniversary Celebration and make a donation the APGO Academic Scholars and Leaders Frank T. Stritter, PhD, Endowed Faculty Fund in honor of Doctor Stritter’s many contributions to the program. The endowment fund will ensure the future involvement of highly qualified professional educators and maintain the outstanding quality of the ASL program.

Michael Plevyak, MD
Michael Plevyak, MD, died August 13 from injuries sustained in an accident while vacationing in Vancouver, BC with his family. He is survived by his wife Sudeep Aulakh, MD, and their two children, Sajen and Raina.
Doctor Plevyak was an APGO member in good standing who was very active in the organization. He was a graduate of the 2012 ASL Scholars and was serving as a local mentor to a current scholar. Doctor Plevyak was a faculty physician in the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Massachusetts and the Associate Program Director for the Ob-Gyn Residency program at Baystate Medical Center.
Doctor Plevyak was an avid runner and sports fan who loved to travel and drink fine wine or good craft beer. He leaves behind a legacy as a beloved physician and educator, whose good works will be sorely missed.
Ralph J. Anderson, MD
Ralph J. Anderson, MD, passed away on July 31, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara, as well as his children David and Carolyn, and grandchildren Braden and Ashlyn.
Doctor Anderson was a member of APGO since 1998, and was the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) at Fort Worth’s Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine for 12 years.
Doctor Anderson devoted his career to improving women’s health through clinical care, medical education, research and local, state and national advocacy for women’s health. He envisioned and created opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration to improve the health and well-being of women and their families. He was a beloved mentor and leader to many.

As the summer comes to a close and the new academic year is underway, the APGO Undergraduate Medical Education Committee (UMEC) has been busy finalizing plans for the annual APGO Martin L. Stone, MD, Faculty Development Seminar which is scheduled for January 6-9, 2018 at the Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa in Manalapan, Florida. This year’s seminar will offer a Medical Education Makeover: Cleanse, Repair and Enrich! The program is filled with plenary sessions, interactive workshops, lunchtime learning, breakfast roundtables and ample time for networking with other ob-gyn educators. Register now, as the seminar is always a great educational meeting and fills to capacity.
We hope to see you this January in Florida!
