APGO Teaching Awards

Each year, APGO honors ob-gyn academic physicians who have made exceptional contributions to women’s health care education with the following awards:

Excellence in Teaching Award
The APGO Excellence in Teaching Award was established in 1992 to recognize outstanding teachers in ob-gyn medical education. More than 1,500 physician educators have received this prestigious award since its inception.

Lifetime Achievement Award
The APGO Lifetime Achievement Award honors past APGO leaders who have made noteworthy contributions within the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology.

William N.P. Herbert, MD, Promising Educator Award
This award recognizes junior faculty with demonstrated accomplishments and a potentially bright future in women’s health education. Award recipients must have graduated from the APGO Academic Scholars and Leaders Program and be present at the APGO Faculty Development Seminar to receive the award.
