The deadline for submitting abstracts and posters has passed.

The Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) invite you to submit an abstract of your work to be considered for presentation at 2014 CREOG and APGO Annual Meeting.

The theme of the 2014 Annual Meeting is Signs of Progress in Women's Health Education and we want you to be a part of the meeting. Medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty are all encouraged to submit an abstract to be considered as Oral or Poster presentation.

Here are examples of educational topics to use in your submission.

  • Signs of the Times – What’s New in Women’s Health Education, The Evolving Healthcare Environment
  • Sign Here – Professional Identity Formation, Teacher & Learner Accountability, Accreditation
  • Sign Over – Patient Safety & Quality Improvement, Communications Skills
  • Sign Posts – Setting, Attaining and Documenting Milestones
  • Sign Up - Volunteerism and advocacy in Ob-Gyn, how do we give back?
  • E-Sign – Effective Use of Technology, Electronic Medical Records

Every year, a number of awards are given to outstanding posters and abstracts presented at the meeting.

  • $500 Award to Student/Resident for Excellence in Educational Research
  • $500, $300 and $200 Awards for Oral Abstract Presentations
  • $200, $150 and $100 Awards for Poster Presentations

Also, CREOG and APGO are pleased to announce that a $500 award will be presented at the 2014 CREOG & APGO Annual Meeting to an ob-gyn medical student, resident, fellow or faculty for the best use of Exxcellence in Life-Long Learning or Pearls of Exxcellence. This award is being funded by the Foundation for Exxcellence in Women’s Health CareAbstracts must be submitted online and authors are requested to check a box on the abstract submission form as to their desire to submit for oral, poster or both. Abstract Publication
A small number of high quality abstracts presented at the Meeting will be published by Teaching and Learning in Medicine, an on-line, peer-reviewed journal.

Peer Review
All submissions will be peer reviewed anonymously by members of CREOG and APGO. Indicate on the form whether your submission should be considered as an oral presentation, a poster, or either. Up to forty abstracts will be accepted for oral presentation, the remaining meritorious submissions will be considered for inclusion in the poster sessions.

General Requirements

  • At least one author must be a member of APGO or ACOG, or be a resident or medical student.
  • Individuals whose abstracts are accepted are required to register for the meeting and pay the registration fee.
  • Abstracts submitted must be original work and should not have been published in any other format.
  • Abstracts must not be submitted elsewhere for consideration until notification is received from CREOG and APGO.
  • Abstracts must be follow the Submission Guidelines below.
  • Note that clinical outcome studies are not appropriate for this education-based meeting.

Oral Presentations
Oral presentations will be limited to a 10-minute presentation, followed by a five-minute question-and-answer period.

Poster Presentations

  • The poster itself should fit on a 4’ x 8’ bulletin board.
  • Authors are expected to be present at the assigned poster sessions.
  • No audiovisual equipment is allowed.
  • CREOG and APGO are unable to set-up or remove posters.

On-Line Abstract Submission Instructions:

  • The Abstracts must be submitted online via CREOG’s Web page by Noon EST on Monday, August 19, 2013.
  • Complete information must be entered into the required fields on the webpage.
  • The submission must present completed data sets.

Format Specifications:

  • Abstract Title must not be more than 100 characters.
  • Abstract must not be more than 750 words, including tables and graphs.
  • Simple tables and graphs may be used only if they fit within the specifications

Headings: Each submission should include the following headings in bold:

  • Study Objective
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  • Key Word/s (up to three words)
