GREEN JOURNAL SUPPLEMENT NOW AVAILABLE
The third educational supplement to Obstetrics & Gynecology is now available! The online-only supplement is a collaborative effort between CREOG and APGO and contains selected full-length manuscripts as well as abstracts from the 2017 CREOG and APGO Annual Meeting, Medical Education: Wizardry, Innovation and Magic.
The issue also includes the original article “Competency-Based Objectives in Global Underserved Women’s Health for Medical Trainees” written by APGO’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

Back by popular demand, the APGO 5K Suds Run & Walk returns Sunday, January 7, at the 2018 APGO Martin L. Stone, MD, Faculty Development Seminar (FDS) in Manalapan, Florida. The annual 5K Suds Run & Walk represents APGO’s commitment to physician wellness, providing FDS participants with an opportunity to unwind and engage in a healthful activity following a long day of learning, professional development and networking. In this month’s UMEC column, learn about some of the APGO resources that can help ob-gyn educators with their faculty development, curricular development and implementation needs, including the Effective Preceptor Series, APGO Teaching Tips, Basic Clinical Skills, and more!
APGO and UMEC member David Forstein, DO, was named Dean at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York. Doctor Forstein previously served as Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville, South Carolina.
Alice Goepfert, MD, who has held many leadership roles within APGO, has been appointed Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education in the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Medicine and Designated Institutional Official for UAB Hospital. Doctor Goepfert is also a professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology’s Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at UAB.
Roger Smith, MD, who has held many leadership roles within APGO and is the current APGO president, was appointed Assistant Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs at Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, Florida Atlantic University. Doctor Smith will continue to serve as Assistant Dean for Graduate Medical Education as well.
